OVERVIEW

This historic coal-to-natural gas conversion was initiated for Units 1 & 2 in a large power generation plant in the western region of the United States. This transformation ensured a seamless transition to future plant operations, marking a significant shift towards cleaner energy by reducing overall carbon emissions and extending the plant’s operational life.

Loenbro was uniquely positioned to manage the complexities of this project, staffing 150 Mechanical, Soft Crafts, and Electrical personnel to navigate the intricacy of this multi-level facility and execute precise piping installations. Our teams provided tailored solutions to efficiently manage critical tasks, such as constructing elevated work platforms, installing them up the 14-floor facility, and assembling complex equipment.

Through our qualified safety-conscious resources, we demonstrated our commitment to delivering sustainable solutions and reinforced our strong partnership with the customer.

  • Mechanical & Structural

    • Installation of Structural Steel with welding and coatings, including pipe bridges, steel supports and platforms.

    • 14″ Carbon Steel Piping Installed throughout the Plant – over 3500′ for Both units total

    • Installation of Low-Pressure Skids, High-Pressure Skids, Gas Metering Skids, Launchers, and Receivers throughout the site.

  • Soft Craft

    • Constructed Elevated Deck Scaffolding with Heavy-Duty Trusses

    • Installation and Welding of Structural Steel and application of Coating

    • Detection, testing, and abatement of lead for installation of steel supports following regulatory guidelines

  • Critical Electrical

    • Installation of approximately 38 sections of 20′ cable trays per unit

    • Installation of multiple marshalling cabinets per unit

    • Executed thousands of Electrical Terminations

    • Installation of Instrumentation Home-Run (HR) Cable or Field Cable

    • Installation of Conduit, Conduit Supports, Cable Tray, and Cable Tray Supports
