OVERVIEW:

This CO2 injection system project was set to reduce the overall onsite carbon emissions through the installation of a 10,000-foot deep CO2 injection well, requiring multifaceted expertise across mechanical, electrical, and soft craft disciplines, all while maintaining an impeccable safety record.

Our diverse teams worked through inclement weather towards a successful project execution with full-spectrum electrical expertise and innovative cost reduction solutions. By proactively identifying a value engineering solution, our teams could re-engineer and repurpose an existing pipe rack for the new system, delivering substantial cost savings for the client. Our electrical teams expertly managed all facets of the electrical scope, from initial construction of a mini compressor station to the installation and commissioning of diverse equipment like CO2 vaporizers. This included proficiently working with an extensive voltage range (12V, 24V, 120V, 208V, 240V, 480V, 4160V, and 12470V).

Through proper planning and project coordination, our team’s execution furthered our mission of leading the change for the customer-contractor relationships.

CHALLENGE:

  • Ongoing development of engineering plans and protocols.

SOLUTION:

  • Our teams were able to fill the gaps in practical positioning and tie-ins in elements to keep the project on track.

See the success

  • Critical Electrical

    • Built a mini compressor station from the ground up

    • Installed about 10,000+ feet of conduit and cable tray and 40,000+ feet of wire/cable installed.

    • Performed electrical terminations, including a 12,470-volt medium voltage transformer

  • Mechanical & Structural

    • Installed over 4,500 LF of piping

    • Completed 17,000 weld inches of stainless steel & carbon steel piping

    • Set 65,000 lbs of structural steel.
